What are dictionaries
Dictionaries, or dictionary structures, is a special data structure that allows you to store dictionary objects divided into views and dictionary categories. A dictionary structure, just like a data structure, has a tree structure, which means that all elements are derived from one element called the root.
Dictionary structures are used to create tables, data structures, forms and algorithms. Their usage facilitates data entry.
There are two types of dictionaries:
- Predefined dictionaries - it is a special dictionary structure called System, containing predefined dictionary objects necessary for the proper functioning of the dictionaries. This structure is provided with the archITekt tool and should not be modified by the user.
- User dictionaries - user-defined dictionaries.

The dictionaries allows you to:
- create, modify and expand dictionary structures,
- define field attributes: default values and required fields,
- document the designed structure in the form of adding descriptions to individual structure fields.
