Release 2020-Q1

The most important changes made in the first quarter of 2020 are described below.

Business changes

The most important changes from the business point of view.

English version of archITekt Studio

VSoft archITekt Studio can work in two language versions: Polish and English. The language version is selected at the component configuration level.

Runtime components can run edited versions

Runtime components, working with the Database Versioning, by default use the published version of the objects configured in VSoft archITekt Studio. In the current release, there is an option to indicate the user’s data for the runtime component, which will be used as a “lens” to visualize the content of the Versioning, including the current configuration of objects during edition.

Automatic reloading of the data model configuration

VSoft archITekt automatically reloads the definition of the data model after making changes to it. This behavior is available for all kinds of data model except for the model generated in code as classes (requiring the supply of an external DLL with the data model for the application).

Technical changes

The most important changes from a technical point of view.

Changes to the HSTS security configuration method for web applications

In the latest version of the VSoft archITekt application, the configuration of enabling the HSTS flag has been changed. How to enable the HSTS header (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/Strict-Transport-Security).

In the Configuration\Environment\Security.config file, the ForceHttps attribute was removed, which was responsible for setting the Secure option to Cookies and enabling the HSTS flag. Instead of it, the CookieScureOption attribute has been added, which is responsible only for setting the Secure option to Cookies.

The ability to enable the HSTS flag for web applications has been moved to the Web.Config file of the httpProtocol/customHeaders section as adding a specific header. There is a comment in the Web.Config file on how to enable this flag.

Running WebService packages from archITekt Studio

In the latest version of archITekt Studio, it is possible to run processing packages acting as WebService from the archITekt Studio level without the need for administrator rights.

ArchITekt Studio will try to register an appropriate prefix in the system on behalf of the user when trying to run such a package for the first time. If it is not possible, it will display a command to carry out this action (this command must be performed with administrator rights).

When installing VSoft ArchITekt using the installer, registration is performed automatically during the installation.

New runtime parameters for DbUpgrader and installation scripts

An option has been added to DbUpgrader to define how database connections are displayed in the log (masked or not). By default, the password masking option is enabled (changed to "*******" when connecting to the database).

An option has been added to DbUpgrader and installation scripts, which allows you to optionally specify the location of a file to which the results of the tool will be logged.

In the case of DbUpgrader, the name of the log file is given by passing a parameter, in the case of installation scripts (InstallTools.ps1) by importing the library and thus passing the parameter.

Simplified reverse proxy configuration in the Scheduler

The Scheduling application has been expanded with an internal, automatic Reverse Proxy mechanism that transmits messages from the scheduling service.

In a standard installation, the internal reverse proxy is automatically enabled and requires no additional implementation.

Possibility to use regular expressions in technical configuration

The technical configuration mechanism allows the use of regular expressions in the CONFIG_KEYS table in the CK\NODE_NAME column.

For example, by configuring the values in this column as "MyComputer_.*", You can get separate configuration for selected computers running a given project.
