Release 2022-Q3
The most important changes made in the third quarter of 2022 are described below.
User Interface: new control - task scheduler, mobile mode in list control and popup windows
VSoft archITekt's set of controls has been expanded to include a task schedule control. The control can be fed with event data from any list defined in the system and allows configuring the handling of calendar events.
In the current Release, the controls: list and popup window have been expanded to a display mode suitable for use on mobile devices:
- For the list: enabling the option to display list records vertically on mobile devices makes the list records displayed in a different form when the screen is narrowed; below, the same list presented on a wide and narrow screen:
- Popup windows on a mobile device display at a width automatically adjusted to the width of the screen
User Interface: UX improvements: predefined settings in the form editor
The form editor in the User Interface has been enhanced with the functionality of graphical selection of predefined settings; both of the form and of each type of container placed on the form.
Depending on the type of container, the palette of definable settings is different.
Technical configuration: convenient encryption of parts of the configuration
VSoft archITekt allows to secure the configuration of the project, so that part of the configuration is saved in encrypted form. This includes both a part of the configuration keys provided by the system by default, as well as configuration elements selected by the administrator, which he himself provides by extending the system (for example, configuration of connections to external databases).
When working with a secured project, any modification (update / reconfiguration) of the project is possible only after entering the password, based on which the encryption vector is generated. System components access the encryption vector in a secure manner (depending on the deployment: it is secured using DPAP technology - for OnPremises deployments, or passed as an environment variable - for deployments using containers).
Optimization of memory usage
As part of the current Release, modifications have been made resulting in a significant reduction of memory usage by the archITekt platform.
Integration with OCR - Abbyy Flexi Capture
The functionality of the VSoft archITekt platform has been extended by a plugin that allows collaboration with the OCR tool Abbyy Flexi Capture.
As part of the collaboration:
- in the Abbyy Flexi Capture tool, it is possible to add an event to the OCR process passing recognized document data and controlling further document handling to the VSoft archITekt platform,
- on the VSoft archITekt platform, it is possible to define a series of handling processes for different groups of documents using a set of data received from the OCR process.
Documentation: technical description of project package construction for advanced deployments
VSoft archITekt documentation has been extended to include a low-level description of the structure of archives in which the configuration of deployed and upgraded systems is delivered. This documentation enables the preparation of advanced deployment and system upgrade scenarios where required:
- Adding custom configuration to the environment (e.g., for external components).
- Executing additional SQL scripts (e.g., providing initial data).
- Adding custom extensions (plugins) to the application.
New documentation elements are placed in the Deployment chapter.
Breaking change: remove schedulerEnvironmentName key from Scheduling
The schedulerEnvironmentName configuration key has been removed from the Scheduling from the file \Configuration\EnvironmentAppSettings.config.
If you use this key in your own extensions, please change its use to the ApplicationName key.
In addition, a number of other minor technical and UX improvements have been made in the current quarter resulting in a more efficient operation and increasing the effectiveness of its use.
