Release - version 21.15
The most important changes made in version 21.15 are described below.
New functionalities
PostgreSQL as a database engine
Starting with the current release, VSoft archITekt can use PostgreSQL as a database engine. The engine on which the application will set up its databases is selected during the creation of a new project.
Anonymous access management in a web application
The web application's designer GUI enables the granting of anonymous access to forms and lists. When the AnonymousAccess permission is selected for a form or list, users will be able to access these elements without having to log into the application. At the same time, the palette of available functions used in expressions has been extended to include dedicated support for anonymous mode.
Convenient handling of multiple subworkflows outputs
The subworkflow run activity has been enhanced with a new property that enables the separate handling of individual subworkflows outputs. Once this setting has been made, each output generated by the subworkflow will be represented as a separate output port from the subworkflow run block.
Support for icons and graphics in vector format (SVG)
Starting with the current Release, when designing an application, you can add graphics files in *.svg format to the project and use in all places in the application where raster graphics were previously available.
Context help
Context help mechanism after pressing F1, selecting the option from the main menu Help, or from the icon of each designer is available for the following areas:
- data structures,
- dictionaries,
- GUIs (forms, lists),
- workflows,
- decision tables.
Convenient way to extend application functionality with .NET code
VSoft archITekt allows you to add C# function code files directly to the repository; functions added in this way can be used in expressions in all elements of the application under construction immediately after adding.
Improvements in the deployment area
Easier way to configure the most common application extensions
VSoft archITekt Launcher has gained a new dedicated window for configuring application parameters related to the most frequently added features to an existing application.
More convenient way to configure security when connecting to an external service
The mechanism for configuring external data sources allows convenient authorization configuration for methods: HTTP Basic Auth. and API Key. The authentication method can be selected directly in the data source configuration, and in the case of using the API Key method, you can additionally indicate the name and location of the passed parameter (in the header or query).
Tool for easy integration with web services
The standard installation of the archITekt platform has been enhanced with a tool that facilitates network traffic diagnostics when integrating with external systems using network services - the VsNetCat tool.
Other changes
- The Create data element workflow activity has been expanded to include the ability to define initial mappings.
- The workflow activity Web service has been extended with the ability to handle the exit of the activity after the response timeout.
- Added a new function to the expression mechanism to retrieve the name of the current state of the running workflow.
- The web service call block has been extended with the ability to capture and save HTTP(s) transport header data.
- The advanced filters control in the list has the ability to configure the default state (collapsed/expanded).
- The flow container has got properties to determine the behavior when the cursor is hovered and the container is clicked.
